Allama Iqbal Open University(AIOU) has so far dispatched books and allied materials to more than 45 thousands students enrolled in PTC programme for the Semester Spring, 2015 and the books to students of FA programme are being sent from Thursday.
A mobile SMS has also been sent to all the students of PTC program, informing them about the date of their mailing of books and the students are advised to contact with the nearest post office for this purpose. Students of matric, FA, BA/BEd of the Spring semester across the country will receive their books and allied reading material this month. The books for other programmes will be dispatched during next month. The entire process will be completed by May 31.
The Mailing Department of the university has been given a target date to complete the process, said Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui while inaugurating the books' mailing process. The relevant staffs have also been advised to ensure accuracy in the mailing system to avoid any inconvenience to the students'.
The students will get books at their given address through post offices. All the enrolled students from matric to postgraduate-level will be informed about the mailing date through sms messages, where their cell numbers are available with the university. Automaton mailing system has been introduced from this semester for the quick delivery of the books. In the first phase, the books are being dispatched to the students of PTC, Matric, FA and BEd.
According to Mailing Department Director Syed Qamar uddin, books-tracking system has also been introduced and now the students could check information about their books by visiting website mailing.aiou.edu.pk
In case of any delay in receipt of books, students can contact university's complaint numbers: 051-9250158 and 051-9057611. They can also contact on email address mailing@aiou.edu.pk.
